In trying to dry out mini after she was flooded, I took out the carpet and I tried to take out the soundproofing in the footwell. The recycled, shredded foam material was wringing and I wanted to get it off the metal. In trying to take it out though a fair amount of it disintegrated.

So, any thoughts recommendations on what to replace it with (when I finally get the rest of it out ) ?

You can buy soundproofing kits, Somerford, MiniSpares, Mini Sport should stock them, you could also try ordinary carpet underlay.
