ok, well plans to head england and buy a mini and project should hopefully be happening very soon..
now was talking to the guy who has the project here is a quote from an email sent :

im renting a transit van and gonna fit the shell and alot of other stuff into it... there is a normal 1275 and a 998 engine that comes with the project so the race one doesnt really interest me but if there is space left in the van i could bring this engine back also for anyone interested and wants to buy it...???
be a bit of a gamble i know buying the engine without seeing etc i know but i dont think he is looking for crazy money for it so be worth sending him a pm on http://www.theminiforum.co.uk and look for the username : stormduck

A racing block doesn't mean much.A racing short engine would be a block,(forged) pistons,(steel,balanced,crossdrilled) crank,(race,rally) camshaft,Hi pressure oil pump and bearings.The quality of the parts would deteermin the price.
