Eastern region meeting and MICK,s bog run.

Post by kerryminigringo »

The eastern region will be holding it,s next meeting in the Clonsilla Inn on Sunday the 14th of September at 12 noon. This will be a short meeting(Billy is not coming  )to discuss upcoming events and then its off for the long awaited MICKs bog run.Try and make it along as this run has been in the pipeline for a long time and I,m sure it will be worth the wait.By the way MICK,s stands for Minis In Co. Kildare. If anyone can,t make the run come along for the meeting and meet some of your fellow club members for a chat and some tyre kicking. All members in the Eastern region will be contacted by email or text if no email details are on file in the next 2 days as a reminder. All mini variants welcome.

KMG, just to spite you, I might make an appearance yet. The spuds were grand in the Clonsilla Inn after last month's meeting.

Just Take Navan exit off the M50 and head for Navan.About a mile out the road follow the signs for Blanchardstown shopping centre.Go past shopping centre(it will be on your left) and keep on this road for approx.1 mile until you come to a small roundabout with NO left exit.Exit this roundabout to the right and the Clonsilla Inn is down there about 150 metres on the left.If you get lost give me a ring on 087 2309324,hope to see you there Aidan.

Just back from MICK's Bog Run and as promised it was the best fun I had all weekend.
"Great day out"
"Couldn't have planned it better"
"I'm glad I took the Mini today"
"The Mk2 never looked better"
"Should have used Wets instead of Slicks"
"Why did I bother washing and polishing it?"
"I didn't realise I'd need wipers"

Well the sun was beating down on us ( opps, sorry , that was last year in Tenerife). Yep, the rain came and muddied the roads, but luckly no one got bogged down, although ZAKGT did have to mend his exaust. DAVEC, miffed that he couldn't do the run , did a little rain dance as he left the meeting and the heavens opened on us.
Eleven Minis drove around North Kildare, but it would probably have been drier driving across the actual Bog.

Thanks to all that turned up and made the organisation worthwhile.
See ye next month , when the DLMinier's bring us down around Wicklow.

A good meeting today followed by a good run.Plenty of new cars to see and four new members to meet. This new format is working well, I've seen 17 different minis at the last two meetings.

By the way, did I mention that it was slightly wet on the run today. It's a pity Billy couldn't make it, I couldn't see even him jumping out every time we stopped. Actually it was so wet we only stopped once and that was we weren't sure if the Canal was the road or not.

Well done to Killian for organising this yesterday, and a big thanks to all those who turned out too. Nice to see the numbers and the interest in the new format.

Next up is the Autojumble on the 28th and looking forward to Daves run in October.

Don't be fooled by TMG's photo of ZakGT fixing his exhaust. That happened on the way to the meeting ( before DaveC did his rain dance). If he had had to fix it on the run , he would have drowned. Did I mention that it was a little wet yesterday?

Hi Guys

Many thanks for waiting for me yesterday !
I will have to learn how to read times etc in future,
I had a great time meeting some new faces and thank god that for the rain to wash off all the nice soil we encountered on route . Great roads for the mini with short turns and long stretchs .

Regards
Brian :D
