Looks like your doing a great job. How much of the body is steel?

Basically only the tub is steel, the rear is a spaceframe setup, the front is just a mini subframe. The rest of the car is fibreglass. Its so light that when the engine is not in the car 2 people can pick it up and move it.

Great photos, best of luck with it.
There used to be one driving around the Dun Laoghaire / Dalkey area in the early 90's, although I haven't seen it for years.

One sold in Sligo earlier in the year, it was on a Q plate which is as big a headache as no papers at all. I think it went to the East coast.

Nice car, and a nice little garage too.
Why the change of top shock mounts ?

Hi there
Good to see another GTM project in action.
You seem to be on top of things at the moment, more than i can say for mine.
I'm trying to put a Yamaha R1 engine into mine and as you know there is very little room
in the engine bay.
If you want to cast your eye over it go to the General section and on page 6
you will see a thread called FRESH MEAT.
Hope we can share some info in the future.

Nice car, and a nice little garage too.
The original ones are only there to support shocks not coilovers, I found that they were bending with the upward movement, I also didn't like the way they were made as there were made from 2 pieces welded together at the weakest point. The new ones are a one piece design. Its all trial and error with these cars, I'm still playing round with the coilover settings so it my not be the last modification.

Well I can't believe its taken me this long to post some more pics,
Right so I flipped the car over and atacked the rust, usual spots the 4 sill corners,
Then it was sealed,
I wasn't happy with the brake setup so I installed a pedal box,
I then continued sandblasting the interior ready for primer,
Changed the rear light to a more modern replaceable unit,

I then packed all the bits onto the truck and took it off to be painted,
Parts in primer,
Spraying the car,
Parts painted,

Thats no probs Si, it was really just a sugestion to get you out of the house and into a garage so you can get your hands dirty, I'm working on it most evenings after works (or when the wife lets me) so give me a buzz and come over.
