IMOC Camping Weekend August 22-24

Post by Billy »

Book August 22-24 for the club's annual camping weekend.

This year's chill-out extravaganza will take place in Parsons Green, Clogheen, Co. Tipperary
http://www.clogheen.com Clogheen is near Cahir and anyone who took part in the Saturday run on last year's camping weekend will have passed through it at the bottom of the Vee.

The camping weekend is very informal and many members bring their families along. Traditionally it's been very much an ER event but myself, Johnny Murphy, and Tom Sullivan Cork fought the SR corner last year. Johnny and Tom brought their campers, or as Noreen called theirs, "The Shaggin' Wagon"! I'd be expecting a decent Shannonside turnout this year.

Parsons Green has an indoor playground, chipper, and a meeting room available for late night chats. There's also a pet farm and an agricultural museum for all the Dubs who think their food is grown in the back of a Tesco lorry! (or Superquinn for the Southsiders). There are 2 B&B's down the road as well for any wimps.

So for now mark that weekend in the diary and if you're interested, add your name to the list below so I can give the campsite an indication of numbers.

Lorenzo, just sent you a PM.

As regards the cost of the camping weekend, everyone pays their own fees to the campsite directly and those rates are posted on Parsons Green's website http://www.clogheen.com

Hope you can make it.

This looks like it's shaping up to be a great weekend, we were there today for one of our regular National Committee Meetings, and the venue is excellent, we have a whole separate field to ourselves and the facilities are second to none, there is ample play area for all the kids, both indoor and out, there is a cafe and chipper on site, there is a pet farm, with walks and pony rides, table tennis and a full sized tennis court. Pool tables, air hockey , table football. All in all it looks like we are on to a winner. :D

Just a few pics from today.

The boys check out the field.

We met some fine looking birds.

JR,

We're finalising the details of the weekend but it should look like this:

Friday August 22nd: Campers travel to Parsons Green and get their tents up, open a few cans etc;
Saturday: Run for the Minis around South Tipp; Remote Control Mini challenge, family sports,
barbecue, etc. We also have the use of a meeting room for late night socialising once the kids are gone to bed.
Sunday: Everyone head their separate ways but with a detour for anyone not in a rush home.

Even if you're not camping, you're welcome to join us over the weekend especially as you're only over the road. All members are welcome to come along on the Saturday run, preferably with their Mini.

There's a few details to be sorted yet but all club members will be getting notified in the post in the near future.

Hope you can make it,

Billy
