A mini owner has contacted me about the top steady arm . The mounting bolt that takes the arm itself has broken just below the surface. A mechanic had a go at it with a 3 inch nail which left the surface a bit dimpled. I have tried to get it out with a stud extractor but broke 2 of them in the progress. Access it restricted. Anyone got any ideas. Have tried the usual drilling out , heat .
Due to access it looks like an engine out or part out anyone interested in trying it ?

Re: Broken bolt
Leave it where it is and get one of the newer engine stradies that attach to the top of the flywheel cover. Mini Spares do them I think.
