Meeting on Sunday

Post by THE DUKE »

Just a question on the Meeting/Run on Sunday The events page has meeting on at 12pm and the Forum has the Run on at 10am I can not see how those maths work. Another thing I was wondering about is how does the meeting take place if its windy or raining standing in a carpark also if your mini is off the road or resting for the winter would there be any point even going to the meeting if people are going off on a run

The Events page may need to be updated, the details for Sundays run were posted out to all members at the weekend.

The plan is to leave the Lidl car park at 10.15. If your Mini is off the road call down for a chat in either Maynooth or Longford.

Maybe I am getting old or having a bad day but why would I get up early to have a 15min chat in a carpark in the cold. Cannot see how this is better than the old meeting in the clonsilla.

Hi Brendan,

The aim of this change in format is to get more people out there on runs and to meet up with other club members. The monthly meeting as it was, was finding it hard to maintain the numbers and was really only convenient for those within a 15 mile radius of Clonsilla. This new style of meeting will be more accessible to all in the ER.

If your car is resting up for the winter or in no fit state to do the run, come ahead, I'm sure there would be room for you as navigator in someone else's car. There will be plenty of time to chat while on the run.

DUKE,
The Clonsilla Inn meeting had died a death. No one was turning up.
The original plan for his Sunday's run (before it was hijacked to go look at Aouto-testing) was to meet at the Lidl carpark and head off over the bog for a couple of hours and end up in Roches Pub down the road from Donadea Park, so people could have a chat. This is what will happen for the next (MICK) run.

DAVEC,
I'll be at the Lidl Carpark at 10:00.
Directions:
Head out the N4/M4 and take the Maynooth exit (2nd Junction). Head back over the M4 towards Maynooth, Lidl is 200 metres on the Right before the ESSO garage.

Killian.

Heading to the Pub eh?, looks like I'll have to bring along my designated driver  I'd say lots of good thick socks to be watching the cars go by!

Just got my minuets from the AGM and my info yesterday. thanks Julie, Carol liked that it was addressed to her too! (sucked in now)

We will have to find a pub in Longford , unless people want to divert to Roches on the way back.

Billy - unfortunately not bringing a Mini but travelling down with 66Mini

D_3m0_n - Yes, there was a few hijackers in there. It's in an Industrial Estate in Longford, I thought there was directions on here somewhere. TMG is local so will hopefully post up a few directions

The Autotesting is taking place in the Mastertech Business Park, just off the Athlone Road as you are heading out of Longford, Take the first turn on your left after you go under the railway bridge, you'll see the offices of Shannon Side Radio.

I know the weather has been pretty crap of late, but I'll check with the organisers on Saturday to make sure all is going ahead.
