Re: Wolseley Hornet Restoration Project
Debating whether to fit colour-coded arches before I fit the chrome strips.
It's going great and it's getting some reaction around the place.

Re: Wolseley Hornet Restoration Project
Thanks lads,
It's getting there. I wouldn't show it yet but I hope to have all the bits I need after the Beaulieu autojumble in September.

I noticed that this year the IMOC Autojumble doesn't clash with the little gathering in Beaulieu.

Re: Wolseley Hornet Restoration Project
Update on the Hornet.
I bought new locking clips for the convertible roof as the old ones tended to unclip and flap around the place. Fitting the new clips was no problem but when I tried to stretch the hood over the frame afterwards, it ripped in two places along stitching which was repaired previously. I missed out on a hood on Ebay last week but Dick Mason has told me about an upholsterer in Tralee who might be able to make me up a new one.
The plan is to have the car ready in time for the Paddys Day parade in Mallow.

Re: Wolseley Hornet Restoration Project
Just won a brand new hood on Ebay for £50. Even with postage at £25, it's much cheaper than having one made up.

Re: Wolseley Hornet Restoration Project
Long overdue update on the Hornet. I brought it early last year to Mitchells Garage in Kilgarvan who also run the Kilgarvan Motor Museum and they modified the existing frame and fitted the new hood I found on Ebay. Here's a picture of the work in progress.
I brought the car home last May and since the summer was so crap, it only got out for a few short local runs. At this stage, it's on the button and needs to have group 2 arches fitted to cover the 12" wheels, a carpet fitted, and some general tidying. I'm seriously considering bringing it to Italy in May for the IMM where there's a fair chance I won't need to check the forecast before taking it out.
