Classic commercial insurance help?

Hi, I've just got myself a 1963 mini van & I was calling around all the usual classic insurance companies for a quote but due to it being a van they're all saying that they won't insure it because it's a commercial. Never thought this would be a problem but it is. Anyone know where I might get insurance quotes on this. Cheers.

I got a quote on a pickup from AXA no problem, they were only too happy to quote me but when you call ask for the classic insurance section because the people that answer the phone haven't a clue about classics.
When i was trying the first time the girl wanted me to fax in a photo or drawing of the mini because she didn't know what a pickup was

Cheers for that, Yeah I tried axa but the girl I was talking to didn't think they insured commercial classics so she went off for a while to see if they did then came back saying she would have to call me back but I didn't hear anything else from them. Sure I'll give them another call & see if I can get someone that knows what they actually do. Cheers.

Adam,
The Irish Vintage Society have a scheme for tractors, commercials, and cars. There's an ad for them in this month's Irish Vintage Scene magazine.
Hope it helps,
Billy

Thanks for that Billy I'll give them a try. I tried Axa again but no joy they seem to make things up as they go, one person tells you one thing and another tells you something else. Anyway I won’t using them but I'm sure I’ll get something sorted out. Thanks again.

Have to say that I found AXA excellent to deal with and very reasonable but I went in to the office and this made it alot easier and alot cheaper 310 euro for 3 minis fully comp on the phone and 205 at the desk.

Thanks for all the replies, Well I got I sorted in the end by Brophy & Co. insurance. Very nice fella to deal with & I'm glad to have it on the road, So all I need now is for the weather to brake so I can go enjoy my new mini. Any one have Martin king's number so I can give him a call & see what he can do for us, Or a least get a happy birthday request for someone.
