Anyone who did last weekend's MTM enjoyed the drive through the Glen of Aherlow in Co. Tipperary. Well as the Killaloe campsite is now closed, we had to look for somewhere else for this year's camping weekend. Guess where?

The Ballinacourty House campsite in the Glen of Aherlow is gorgeous. We drove past it on Saturday last. They have great facilities and are set in a beautiful scenic location. Check out their website http://www.camping.ie

I have provisionally booked for 15 tents. When we have final numbers, they'll discuss a reduced rate for us. For ye who don't camp, they have a 6-bedroom B&B on site.

This will be the last weekend before the kids go back to school so it will be one final bash at the end of the summer.

Put it in your diaries now.

KMG has the Clubbie and the Mk2 finished in the time that it's taken to move the Marcos from one end of the driveway to the other.

I did not want to bring this up but there has been a lot of talk in hushed tones lately that this may be the first presidental term of the IMOC that El Presidente failed to show up at an event in a mini(or mini based kit car) that he owned.

Just to put an end to those whispers, I attended Kilarney in a Cooper, Durrow in a Cooper and MTM in a Mini Traveler.

Unlike other lesser car clubs we can afford to have our president chaufured around the country.

Though I did leave him drive the Cooper to Killarney. Mind you, it's such a long time since he drove a sorted Mini himself, he's been whinging about the brakes compared to the Audi ever since.

That's gratitude for ya.

I afraid I wont make it only local runs for the next cupple of months as the Cooper has no engine and the and me 87 is in to many bits to count so the poor automatic is left to pick up the pieces. I have realy like to make this maby next year
