1971 Mini
The time has come to sell my 1971 Mini (RIO553) which is my daily driver and I have owned for the last few years, trying to recreate my youth! The car has an upgraded 1990's interior and 1275 engine and still on brown log books with a pretty comprehensive folder of photos of its restoration and the process as well as receipts. From the history i believe it once resided in Wexford, I think the plates are Kildare and I bought it from a family friend in Cork.
having driven it daily now for 6 months, its is a dream, even up and down to Kinsale last week! I need to make room for a new project and because I dont have a garage, cant keep both! The caar can be viewed in Dublin 6 and asking price is €7,800 or VNO. please drop me an email david@lineupsports.ie or call 086 2713321.

- What Minis have you?: I owned a 1978 Mini 850 when I was in my late teens. I owned a 1986 Mini Chelsea that I imported from the UK. Also owned a 1982 MG Metro that was bored out to 1293. Restoring a 1981 Dublin Mini City.

Re: 1971 Mini
I see that the car is using a 1990’s shell, what remains of the original 1971 car despite the logbook, registration number and possibly the chassis/commission number?

The comprehensive folder of photos should give a very good indication of work that was done, maybe post up some of them.

You may need to elaborate to support such a statement, many restorations update and modernize minis.

Re: 1971 Mini
Sure, just from these 3 photos I can see the following:
- Rain gutters are from a 1978+ shell.
- Front left inner wing is from a 1991-1996 SPI model
- It has dry suspension that only came back into use in 1973
- A 1971 Mini would have a VIN plate and a Commission plate on the top of the front panel
