Felling pretty happy this eve - the non-cranking Spi in my garage is now turning over on the key - suspected relay pack was not the issue, rather a faulty alarm/immobiliser. Bypassed the thing by splicing the white/red cable from the key switch to the white/red feeding the relay pack.
In early injection engines this works - need ECU 101070 - later (1995 and on?) ECU are 101170 and need signal from alarm, apparently.

Re: Spi Cranking
Also replaced fuel pump... (thanks James!) - added points for navigating the tank out while keeping the large speakers in the parcel shelf.
Replaced line fuse (#4 on diagram) - while tank was out I sprayed in some more waxoyl. Moving forward to interior next.. (is this becoming a re-commission thread?)

Signature still awaiting top-coat and lacquer....
