Unique Mini Convertible for sale

Basics:
1984 Austin Mini 1000, 998A+ engine, 64,000 miles
“Keith’s Conversions” convertible kit fitted sometime in the 90’s
Owned for over 10 years (47,000 miles in 2009), performed a full body restoration and had her re-painted, all seals and soft top replaced, new brightwork, rubbers etc. (have receipts)
Garaged by previous owner and ever since

2 accidents during the time of ownership (front panel & bumper; rear bumper, one tail light and boot lid), both done by specialists
Footwells were damaged by incompetent NCT personnel, repaired by professional welder

Classic tax €56, NCT every 2 years (and exempt after only 3 more!), last insurance renewal was €260 Fully Comprehensive

Sale under the condition that we are contacted when offered for sale again. Reason for sale: first car is taken out from storage after becoming a classic, only one “allowed”.
We'll be very sad to see her go.

Mechanics & body:
Front disk brakes as introduced in 1984 (but still centre speedo, late ‘84 change)
12” Mini Lites, 145/70R12, locknuts
W&P style wheel arches

Stage one kit with RC-40 exhaust and alloy water heated inlet manifold
Ran 15W50 JASO MA2 spec oil from Germany for the last 6 years
No noticeable loss between oil & filter changes (before every winter)

Complete (not kit) electronic distributor from Powerspark (wish I fitted this from the start, passes emissions every time now)
original Hi-Lo kit front and back
Adjustable arms and soft poly bushes front
Wiper mechanics just serviced
40mm square steel box section welded between B and C pillar to add strength where roof was removed
Rear subframe and wheel wells painted with Epoxy-Mastic 2K
Boot lid is fibreglass, bumpers are stainless steel

Electrics:
H4 headlights, surrounds are rare one piece units (Innocenti?), not add-on peaks
Glass indicators
Wipac high beams and fog lights (HFFH pattern), mounting holes were drilled before painting
Relays for high and low beams in engine bay
Motorbike battery in engine bay(YTX9 or 12 fit), earth strap
Non-ballast coil & wiring
12x blade-type fuse box moved to “glovebox” behind steering wheel to avoid water damage
PWM control for heater (i.e. like a volume knob, not “too loud” vs. “too foggy”)
LED-tipped toggle switches fitted around MP3 player as head unit (also SD card & radio)
Small hidden amplifier to 2x 10cm coax speakers under the shelf

Interior:

Original 3 piece wooden dashboard with centre speedo. There are cutouts for 2x 50mm/2” indicated on the back. Magnolia Smiths metric Centre speedo and Oil pressure & water temp gauges included in sale.

Floor, boot, rear seat & shelf painted with Epoxy Mastic to waterproof the interior (as it’s a convertible)
Boot space increased due to battery removal
Bucket seats bolted (M8) to floor with angled spacers, 6’4” driver fit’s comfortably and clears roll-bar
Non-automatic 3-point rear seat belts fitted (not mandatory)
Special order T7 design heater unit with 120mm 12V fan and 3D printed Y adaptors: windscreen vents are always on, foot well and dash vents (!) can optionally be heated on either side, unit frees up space, is quieter, lighter and more effective

Carpet just replaced, generic rubber mats
Chrome door handles, burr walnut gear knob and brake handle

Included in sale:
Haynes manual
2 sets of keys
Magnolia instruments as above
Front cone compression tool
Grease gun
Oil
Leftover paint
Cream vinyl used for covers
Various ignition consumables, fuses, covers, small parts, screws etc.
B pillar cover plates
Folder with invoices etc.

Bad spots:
Was used as daily driver for about 2/10 years, so there are small nicks in paintwork, e.g. on door from belt lock
Minor rust starting in common spots
Gear lever cutout in carpet too big
Dashboard nicked where door catches enter, was considering burr walnut cover after fitting magnolia gauges
Heater cable currently stuck (CHM373, £9)
Handbrake lever gaitors cracked (17H7612, £2.40 each)
Drivers side A panel loose at the bottom
Small dent in rear bumper

asking €5250
