Minis doing the Gordon Bennett - Sunday 29th July

This Sunday meeting at 12:00 noon, the Irish Mini Owners Club is doing the Gordon Bennett route. This is a historic race route created when England introduced speed limits, people came to Ireland to race on our roads.

Meeting point 12:00 mid-day Dowling’s pub Ballyshannon Kildare. Turn off at junction 2 on the M9, heading westward to Kilmead. The car park is at the start/finish point of the route.

Lunch spot will be Emo Court, cafe on site or bring picnic.

This was the F1 racing of its time. The route is a figure of 8 covering 104 miles.
Stage 1 - Ballyshannon across to Kilcullen, then down to Carlow. Up to Athy and back to Ballyshannon.
Stage 2 - Ballyshannon across to The Curragh, down to Emo Court (lunch stop) near Portlaoise. Over to Stradbally and back to Ballyshannon.
