what size are drive sahft seals
Hi guys,
Anybody know off hand what size dire shaft seals are for a 998. 1991 reg?
Motor factors don't know how long it will take but might be able to get generic one if I know inner outer and height.
Thanks

Is it diff oil seals or the hub seals you are after.
Both are easily available and inexpensive online from any of the UK Mini parts suppliers, only a few quid each.
Diff oil seal is AUD5738

the Hub seal is GHS101

I think I need both as there seems to be a leak at both pot joints!
Don't really have time to order from uk as nct is this weekend and my car is for wedding the week after! Was hoping to get dimensions an order from a place like abey seals in dublin maybe?
I might just give it a good clean before the test and hopefully they dont notice as it doesn't look likely I'll pick them up before weekend. I'm a bit worried about failing on that though.
Are they easy enough to replace? I.e. take out pot joint and pry them out with a scew driver and then tap in new one with an old socket?
thanks,
Michael

Pretty much. don't forget to drain the oil first.
Did you try Paul or James Kelly in Minifix, they might be able to sort you out

Yeah I've heard people forgetting to drain the oil first haha.
Cool, I'll give them a shout, they might have one of two in stock thanks.

Re: what size are drive sahft seals
As an FYI dimensions are below which I found after a lot of googling! May help others if they need them asap. Measurements are in inches:
1.25 x 1.875 x 0.3125.
I got them in abbey seals in ballyfermot which was fairly close to me so handy.
Relatively easy to change. Pry out old seal with screw driver then tap in new one with big socket and old seal in between to spread the load.
Also found the bigger oil leak which was these inspection plates at the back of the head which wasn't tight! Prob not called inspection plates!
May help somebody.
