Rear seatbelts

Post by antodeco »

Hi all,
I'm looking at options for rear seatbelts in my 1275gt. I have a new member to the family (over a year old) and I need a baby seat for him. I'm able to fit the car seat in the front no problem, but it makes life really awkward for rear passengers as they have to climb over the driver's seat.

Is it possible to change the rear seatbelts to fit a car seat? Automatic ones would work I would assume? Failing that, any car seats that fit!

Thanks

Rear seat belts weren't fitted to minis untill late 80's so you could have NCT issues with mounting points although removing the belts during the test will sort that. I presume you have either lap belts or static 3 point belts. You can't just mount a standard inertia belt at any angle as its designed to lock if the car rolls, you need special aftermarket items that can be mounted an set to work at any angle. Minisport do a 3 point inertia belt.
