I have had two sets of subframes powder coated and the first one is showing signs of rust whereas the second it not.I think the prep for the second was better. The thing with powder coat is that it loses it shine after a while and becomes dull.I think the next set I do I will get them blasted and use a zinc rich primer before coating in 2 pack.
Real Clubmans have a square nose.Seriously.

the new rear one I fitted had been only lightly painted, so i gave it a good coat of red-lead, including thinning it out and swirling it around inside the box-sections, then some heavy trawler grade paint which took about a week to dry - finally waxoyl after fitting & assembly.
I considered filling the box and lower sections with expanded foam or other inert material to prevent it collecting mud & moisture, but put my trust in waxoyl.

Signature still awaiting top-coat and lacquer....

Because this is ireland the quotes to dip/blast and powdercost were gouging.

So its eastwood paints. Front is ready to go in paint this week. 1/3rd of the cost. I suppose its 50 years old and in good nik. Proper paint job and she will be fine.
