Hey,
My names Ian and I'm from Dublin. I thought I'd introduce myself here. I'm currently on the look out for a Mini. I've been trolling DD and Adverts the past few weeks. When you are stuck to a budget, theres only a few out there. I'm only young and quite inexperienced in buying car but it will be fun.
At the moment my father has a Triumph TR6 which I "help" him with and then I have my car, a bright yellow Seat Ibiza. The Ibiza will have to go when I find the right Mini though because I can only dream of being able to own two cars on a student budget...
Anyway, I look forward to meeting some of you in the future!

Hey Spud,
I have up to €2k to spend but am willing to spend some money on the car too to get it right. I would like to go for a 1.3 rather than a 1 litre. I've been told to look for an SPi

Welcome to the site mate. You should get an Ok mini for that, obviously it's for everyday, 2K won't get u a mint spi/mpi, so prepare for rust and breakdowns ,minis are great, but, most of us don't get to use them everyday due to rust and head gaskets, but, you can drive them everyday , just gotta look after them ,:) good luck with the search

Welcome to the forum, already doing better than I did by joining the forum before buying your 1st. Better to get some sound advice.
1000cc can be made pretty fast and fun, if you don't plan much motorway running there's no reason to stay away from them.
Since you're already in Dublin a call out o Minifix would be worth it, might have something there for you

Thanks Phil!
I have already called out to Minifix and got some pretty good advice from them. they helped me out big time. I could go for a 1000cc but if I can get my hands on a 1275, why not turn down a good one. I went to look at one this morning but didn't turn out to be what I wanted. Alot more work to be done on it than I had hoped.
I do a good few miles up to Dunshaughlin and back mainly at weekends so that involves a good bit of motorway driving. I'm going to throw up a wanted ad here and see what people have.
Thanks for your help so far guys!
