Not sure if this counts as a "technical" question. It's probably more of a stupid question.

Anyway, is it possible to directly change the switches on the dash to "TOGGLES"? (toggle as the would refer to them on minisport)y

Perfectly ok, provided the switch is up to it, the early Minis all used toggle switches

The Somerford website is a great source of info. Quality company to deal with too.

Not as easy as it would first appear. You can replace the headlamp switch with the mk 1 item but you will find it hard to get other switches to match it. Each of the switches has a different operation and you need to find a range of switches that will match thoes functions. Also the rocker switches include a light which for brake test and fog light you may need for an NCT.
KMG fitted toggles on his GT so that may be a good place to start.

As Woody said, some of the switches are a direct replacement but the hazard switch took a total of 3 relays which included a changeover relay,a double make relay and the flashing relay itself to replace one switch. You can use toggle switches with an LED built in which just needs a negative to supply the LED.I use Vehicle Wiring Supplies in the UK for my supplies and the offer a great service. Here is a link to the LED toggles

There is also these ones ready assembled.
