alternator refurbish

anyone recommend a place to refurbish an alternator? i used to go to a guy in Donnybrook, D4, but he's closed it seems.
I have several Lucas units that are either short-circuited (draining battery overnight) or open-circuit (not charging, no ign. light) and a nice non-Lucas (Denso?) unit, any one of them would do.
alternatively, what about replacing the rectifier/control (?) pack in them? how hard is it and where do i get the parts?

Theres a fella here in roscommon but thats a little bit away from you haha
Hes gifted thats al i can say iv said a few bits to him and they come back better than new

There's a guy in waterford does mine.. Davy Mc Namara he done
one for me for 30e. Works the finest now.

there's a guy up Rocky Valley in Kilmacanogue that's been doing these for years too, used to use him quite a lot in my earlier years living in Bray, just can't remember his name at the mo?
