Hi all, I will be replacing the rubber cones on my mini soon and was thinking about fitting a set of hi-lo's at the same time. Is it something many have done, or is it unnecessary for everyday road use?
Also, what rubber bushes should be changed on the car, seeing as she has just turned 17!

I'll take that as a no.

The Rubber cones harden and deform over time, so you will notice a big difference when you replace them, hi-los will allow you adjust the ride height to it's optimum and while you replace them you should use the opportunity to replace the knuckle joints while you have the chance.
The other rubber bushings that you could think about are the engine steady bushes, top and bottom, they tend to harden also and the one under the master cylinders can seize and be a bugger to get out.

Thanks Neil, I'm looking forward to feeling the difference of the new rubber!
It will make an enjoyable experience even more so.

some people on here have fitted the Moulton Smooth-a-Ride system, perhaps they might offer an opinion of its worth.

i have a set of coil replacements springs, they are the *blue* set, proved too soft for the rear of the estate so i'm forced to go back to rubber. on the lighter saloon they would be really nice i think - probably not on the sportspack though, are they not heavier?

these are direct replacement for the rubber donuts, and very easy to fit if you have hi-lo's. they come with locating plates for the springs.

If there's anyone interested, give me a shout, i was planning to keep them for a possible future build but..

i got them here: http://www.minispares-online.co.uk/soft ... ssic-mini/

Nice offer Keith, if I had hi-lo.s I'd probably take you up on it.
But if a group buy for cones is going I'd be in for it. I can take delivery (off till new year, next week) & can meet within reason to pass on too.
