Crank sensor

Post by nollaic »

Replacing crank sensor, unfortunately old one got halved with piece left in housing. Unfortunately some of it got pushed through into flywheel housing while trying to remove it . I was wondering will it do any damage if left inside.
Thanks

It most probably will, part of the sensor is magnetised and could easily get stuck in the reluctor ring and further damage or give an incorrect signal to the new sensor. Better to be safe than sorry and take the clutch out.
