Hi Guys

For the first time ever, the IMOC regions is going to fill the fuel tanks and competing against each other to find the most economic mini in the country. Each region will hold a qualifying economy run between now and the National Mini weekend in Carrick on shannon in August, by where the 3 most economic minis in each region will compete in the National Final.

The Western region will be holding there run in June (date to be confirmed) starting in O Rourkes filling station on the Leitrim road outside Carrick on shannon at 1pm

I'd say pointless in me going to it with my yoke. Lol I'd be the laughing stock of fuel consumption

There is always the gas guzzler award to fight for

Right its on i'll hitch up a trailer of fuel just to get up to carrick on shannon lol

The smaller engines did far better over the 51.5 mile course.


The winners outside The Bush Hotel which was the meeting point at the end of the run.



Top competitors today were 3rd Alister Kee 54.81mpg 2nd Dan Moloney 58.29mpg and 1st Padraig Creegan 59.65mpg

Thanks a million to everyone who took part today, 14 cent was the difference between 1st and 2nd. Joe Conboy has set a brilliant organisational standard to the event so I am really looking forward to seeing the results from the rest of the regions

A big thanks to all 14 car that turned out .
The route 51.5 miles .
Most cars averaged round 7 euros of fuel .
But the winner a 1 liter City at 6 euro = 59.65 MPG Owned by Padraig Creegan .
Second Dan Maloneys Elf at 6.14 euro=58.29 MPG .
Third Allister Kees 850 At 6.53euro=54.81 MPG
The Guzzler 10.66 Euro= 33.57 MPG
