Total resprays can cost thousands, the prices can be reduced by the amount of work that you will do yourself, dismantling, stripping, rubbing down, reassembling etc. Cheap jobs cost cheap money. Quality costs.

Depending on the condition of the car you could be looking between 2k to 3k for a half decent job.

You are better advised to get someone who knows what they are doing and that has an oven in their garage to dry the paint on the car. Gives it a better and tougher paint finish.

You could ring Paul of Minifix 0872597085

He is based in Dublin Northside

He can recommend a good painter to you

I am in the process of getting my car resprayed. If I get a good job done ill give you the number of the guy that did mine or you could look at mine to see what u think.

Lads,

the prices you are quoting in Dublin are frightening. I live in Co. Cork and recently had a very large Daimler limousine (18 foot long, 6.5 foot wide) filled and resprayed with 2-pack etc in a proper heated oven. As the top half is black and the lower half is silver, the car had to go to the panelbeaters twice.

The size of the car means that it probably needs twice as much work and paint as spraying a Mini.

What did it cost me (including VAT)?

1700 Euros!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i stripped all the bright work, lights and windows on my gt,took it to the panel beaters where there was a bit of filling here and there and got the car back 3 days later in lovely 2 pack metallic demin blue all for 650 euro but this didn,t include the roof but its still a long way from 2k now its not the greatest job in the world but its perfectly acceptable(a little more rubbing down would have made it perfect cos the paint application as good) and my mini is for driving not shoved into the corner for most of the year so i,m not fussed about it but i could afford to spray it 3 times for the sums ye are talking about and this guy is on the dublin side of dundalk 40 min from the airport

I know this post ended a while ago, but i thought i'd chuck my 2c worth in...

About 2months ago we had one of our Capri's done : Some rust-bits cut out & replaced, filler here & there, a whale tail fitted, towbar removed, bodykit tidied up, and a full outer respray job, all for Euro 1500. Now a Capri is not as big as the Daimler, but its twice the size of a mini   . I hope ye don't mind, but here are before & after pics of the Capri...

ide agree with kerryminigringo much better to do what stripping u can do yourself.get the job done at a reasonable price ,specialy if its going to be your everyday car, nothing worse than paying top wack for a spray job then haveing some twat scratch it in a shopping center car park ,at least if it does happen u could afford to get it sprayed again a year later maybe in a loveley new colour to (follow d fashion) then again if its your pride and joy and is kept well away from twats -top price top paint!
