I know im posting a lot of messages but like i say i am only a noob on minis and want to learn more about them. :D they'r cool!

anyway, showed the car to a mechanic tonite he said it was v nice and in good nick. i mentioned about the kangaroo jump n he reckoned it was due to settings in the carburator. (thinks thats wat he said) but he wouldnt attempt to fix it as he didnt kno enuff about them.

Also he mentioned about getting a Black laquer underneath the car to prevent any rust from occuring which sounds very good.
Has anyone had dis done??

Laquer is usualy clear like a varnish which covers the paiint to prevent damage. Waxol is another spray you can use. If the underside includes the sills then painting them black will change the look of the car from the side.
If the kangaroo came suddenly and you havn't tampered with the carb chances are its an air leak, sticking piston or no oil in the dashpot.

He's probably on about Body Shutz, which is a thichish paint used on the enderside of cars, less likley to chip therefore less likley to allow rust develope

The Body Shutz "stonechip", is flexible and unlikely to craic if chipped by a stone, (does exactly what it says on the tin!!).
Its available in grey and white also, and can be painted over so it will be protected and still look good (not as nice to see black under the bumpers and on the sill's, especially if the cars not black).

When I go woody resprayed the whole underside was shults as well as under the wheelarches ,this was then sprayed the same colour as the car. No rust yet after 7 years.
