Also meant to say what a great thread, had never looked into it before,
excellent build, the GTM's not really my cup of tea but yours is looking really well,
similar engine spec to my own. Looking forward to seeing it out and about!!

Never heard that before, I had my Migla lagged for 4 seasons and the only reason I changed manifolds was because of an accident which dented the bottom joiner (beyond repair) when I removed it, it was in near perfect condition. Actually I've only heard of cracked manifolds when the old cast units were used. With a mini and the 5 port rear facing design having the carb sit directly over the manifold forces it to suck the hot air given off from the manifold, my Migla manifold use to be red hot on return from a race but after lagging it I could literally hold onto it. If memory serves me right I think I gained about 5bhp just from the lagging.
Ok I think its time for an update, well I had a little trouble with fitting the front and rear screens as the rubber extrusion I originally brought was to small in width so once I found the correct stuff I now installed the windows, went in a lot easier than I thought it would. I have left the tails on at the moment to allow it to settle.
So whilst I was waiting for ther rubber to arrive I installed my carb, exhaust, oil cooler and throttle linkage, I also modified the battery cradle so it could accept a larger battery.
I'm hoping tonight to get the sunroof in, the rear roll bar and the dash, i'll keep you posted
it was supose to be today, but that date has long since been elapsed, I would say if I don't get it started this weekend something is wrong, I'm now only waiting on the seatbelts so sometime next week or the weekend after I should have it out for a test run

Well she finally fired last night, 18 months after decommission and went without a hitch, now just for Merlin to help give her a tune and she'll be ready for the road.
