Didnt update in a while now.. buying a welder soon so full steam ahead

Been super busy with a hot rod car and school so not much has happend!.. Have a week off school now so keep an eye out!

So i got a question for everyone.. I have a 998cc mini engine out of a donor car same year and model as mine.. looks fairly rough but would it be worth it to rebuild it maybe just like a goodclean out and stripped and new gaskets and maybe new head?..
I honestly dont have much clew whats wrong with it because i used thecar for spare subframe and interior parts..

Any considerations are appreciated highly,

strip it down anyway, If it's terminal you'll find out and if it's workable rebuild it with new parts where it needs and it should be good again

would it be worth it? moneywise like?.. when it breaks im planning on going vtec

Well i ripped out that engine and its not looking good, when i took out water pump there was gunk everywhere and when i took off the head there was brown pooey kinda gunk.. shes seized aswell so she isnt worth saving, is she??

Will have updates soon.. panels off and welding in at the moment.. buying a 1275 engine off a mate and ordering disc brakes soon.. have been busy with work

Welding is getting there.. have no time with school and work.. ill try put up some photos soon.. pm me if yer looking for parts also.

At this point i was getting excited and now that it was rolling i could actually see it looking like a car again






I also primed the engine bay and the inside of the car! to cut costs on the respray ill be painting the engine bay and inside the cab myself!

Thanks for giving a look! Im currenty rebuilding a 1275 engine also.. dont have photos yet but the plan is to freshin it up with new camshaft.. new bearings.. new clutch..skim the head and other bits to keep it going a while!
Also if anyone has an electronic distributor for sale or a webber carb.. Let me know!

Thanks Billy much appreciated! It was on hold for a while now but back in action now.. By any chance you know much about removing the flywheel on the engine.. Im using the puller tool and everything but she wont budge.. Would applying a small bit f heat to the shaft be a bad thing to do..?

Mini is comming along nicely .
On the flywheel , have you definitly removed the locking washer at the end of the crank, when you look in you should see a slot accross the crank and flywheel.
Measure the tops of the 3 bolts on the puller to the face of the flywheel and make sure they are the same lenght to insure that the puller is pulling straight.
Tighten the center bolt on the puller as much as you can and than strike it sharply with a heavy hammer. The shock can release the flywheel with a bang and mind your feet.
If all this fails than you can heat the flywheel and again shock it.
I only ever had to heat one up and that was on a botched up turbo with A+ primary gear and A gearbox and drops.
