Hi lads sorry for the delay in progress! i got the engine out and back in yesterday morn after getting distracted for a few days. im a little worried at how easy it went in though! i was expecting to be throwing spanners at it by lunch time without the ball joint splitter, but the driveshafts were fairly ok to line up! havent fired her up yet, just need a filter and oil but i think everything is in order!

Photos as promised!

heres the damage up close!

you can't see it here but at the back of the engine there is another smaller hole which looks to have been there for a good while!

Sorted that for you. 8)

Now that's a real broke engine. I'd say everything is busted in there.

She lives!

Sorry for the delay in updates... i got very side tracked since last time i posted with college starting back and all! when i eventually got a few minutes for the mini several weeks later the wiring had become a mystery to me! (some previous owner was a true bodger) :x so off to the local mechanic she went for the finishing touches! Sh'e running lovely now, just needs two track rod ends and she's good to go! thanks all for the help!..

Me and my youngest brother got bored yesterday and started to strip down the donor of the engine after thinking bad of scraping it!.. very rusty but hopefully not gone beyond saving. will stick up some pics in another thread soon!
