Lads Lay up a bit on the chap..............

He's getting a bad run and he could do with a bit of cheering up not telling him to get rid of the thing. We all have bad runs from time to time and He'll have it all up and running and enjoying it again in no time.

Stan My advise is get it fixed take it a bit handy on the road and enjoy it. If you want trouble free motoring buy a mirca but hey if we all bought cars that were chossen for practicality then there would be no IMOC.

I know nobody meant anything by what was said but just remember the lad feeling crap about his car as it is.

FIX IT...... ENJOY IT......

exactly what liam said, when this string of bad luck comes to an end, you'll have a grand car, i had the same sort of bad luck with my old mini, kept breaking down on me, but i just got over it and got her back on the road, keep your head high dude... it'll be back on the road

I had Car(wasn't a mini) with the problems. Turned over on would start with a rev but was a loud tick off it. It ended up that the car had dropped a valve and it was the sound of the piston givin it a good kickin. The engine started a few times but was off one cylinder, then it stop. Didn't find out what was wrong until i bit the bult and took off the head. Ended up replacing valve and piston head.

Not say that it the problem but just a idea. I wonted start it untill i find out wat it is frist.

Whats so bad about Wednesday the 13th Keith/ Stud is still up in Enniskerry, I heard that he has snow up to the window and is hardly visible! Not good and I'd believe it since I tryed getting to Stud it was not happening!

Stan i am offering to come up and have a look at it, perhaps maybe even get it going? no promises, but you never know.
I'm only down here in dunloire and wouldn't mind a trip out. *however*, if its got that much snow i wouldnt be able to reach it, plus its now half three so i'd leave it till tomorrow if you like?

Right, first of all thank you very much to Keith for getting Stud once again (and I hope you recover from the cold). He got Stud going after an hour and I then just got him out of the snow and he died again as I was about to take off! Got him going again and of we went towards the N11. Made it to the little Bray exit and was about to take of and died again (Note : this was just a trip from Enniskerry to Shankill (20minutes max!)) He started once again and I reved the balls of him and went again. Got to the round about at Supervalue (30seconds anyway from my house) and he died once again, so I was rolling and stuck him into 2nd and tryed jumping him and nothing then the car decided to try and catch fire so I took the keys out of the ignition while in shock and the steering lock came on and I almost drove into a wall! I stopped though and big thank you OpenMini who stopped in his super bright AA van to give us a hand. Got him going once again and made to the house without breaking down again and I haven't had trouble with him since so lets hope it stays that way and I won't have to walk to school in the morning!

I'l leave Keith to the explaining of what was wrong with him!

He is how he looked yesterday when I went up to check on him.

the master relay box (4 relays in a box!) wasn't getting (reliable) power: on the SPi that kills the fuel pump, starter circuit, ECU & coil and probably other stuff!
so we supplied power from a handy white cable in the front loom, but the connection over heated and smoked the insulation for a few inches. openmini turned up and supplied some spade connectors so we re-made the connection and Stud got home.
a good service with particular attention to the electrics would hugely improve matters.
