Hi Mini Marcos,
Sorry I didn't check the Forum since my last post so didn't see your question.
I've been having trouble with my wheels, think the alloys have had it (lovely Irish roads haven't helped), wear and tear etc, kept losing air so the Tyre Centre recommended putting tubes in the worst ones (front and rear right). Maybe they're causing a bit of drag now, the car seems a bit unbalanced and the engine sounds like its making more of an effort. Then there is the weird rotating noise that happens when I take my foot off the accelerator! I'm useless at describing it sorry. I've just been on the phone to Billy to see if he can recommend a mechanic a bit closer to me as its my daily driver as they say in the car ads. All advice gratefully received!

Hi womble,
I now use O'Learys in Ballingcollic in Cork, I travel from waterford, you would have 25 miles less to go then me. I can highly recommend this garage.

Thanks Starrywalsh,
I've heard of them through Billy so they'll be next on my hit list I reckon. Do they give you replacement cars by any chance? I'd be lost without the Womble for work, etc.

Starry, have you won the lotto or robbed a bank

.It will be really nice when it,s finished, looking forward to seeing the MKI seats and the motolita steering wheel fitted. The Newton Commercial carpet sets are the best I,ve ever fitted, really good quality and very little cutting to make them fit.

haven't won the lotto, I may need to rob a bank as funds are getting low, I am using the car every day though, so I just want to have her looking the part, over the next 3 years the plan was, exterior, interior, engine .... (While using her daily) I am well ahead of my 3 year deadline

I plan on moving house in around 2/3 years also, I will definatly be having a garage to store her then, the plan is to semi - retire her then, use on weekends in the summer sort of thing ....also when she goes in to her semi-retirment I will have the exterior all redone again, to make sure she is mint! I'd like to also buy another Mini ... something more collectable, that I will keep unchanged, but thats a while away, the only downside to this is that with two "summer" cars, I will be forced to buy an everyday car.... and I just can't see myself in an Avansis!!

Mark, as I've said before, it's a handsome Mini. Having put some much effort and bobs into it, if you haven't already done so, spend a day pumping as much Waxoyl or Dinitrol into the doors, rear companion wells, sills etc especially if you're using it every day.

I just have a word of warning for Mini owners, if you are getting a respray PLEASE make sure you have a club member recommend someone, I have my car back 3 months now, it was been resprayed by a "mini expert", the respray took 8 weeks, panels that had been said to be replaced are now rusting.

You can imagine my anger.
I would also say to the more regular users on these fourms, club leaders etc, to recommend someone to others asking, even if you are blowing your own trumpit and recommending yourself to do work!! Hopefully this post will go some small way to help others into not been fooled by cowboys!
Mark.
