It looks like I might be able to get to this for friday, saturday and sunday.Would I miss much on the thursday because I,m thinking some IMM is better than no IMM.
10" is enough for any man.

No you will not miss much Thursday, that is mostly just the day people come, and you will not be the only one who come Friday, Saturday is the most important day.

Could someone post a quick run down on their expences for the trip? I noticed that there is still holiday allocation left at my work and might be able to take a day or two as unpaid..

FlyingFinn - a quick rundown of an IMM trip amounts to a weekend spent surrounded by approximately 1000 minis (or more) of all types including some rare ones and highly modified ones that you will probably never see here, meeting people from clubs from other countries, some will be long standing friends of the IMOC. If you drive there and back there is also a serious road trip and all the adventures that can bring! One ex member was known to use 30 rolls of film photographing cars.

Im already going to Finland on end of June and will be back at 8th of July. Planning to tour around few known places on the way. I was just wondering how much are the ferry tickets for that time and what would be the cheapest option? I dont mind the driving bit..

We are going over through the UK, Dublin- Holyhead, then down to cross from Dover-Calais, then a wee drive through France, Belgium, Holand, Germany and on into Denmark. After the IMM we are heading on up through Sweden and Norway back from Bergen to Newcastle, then up through Scotland and then the ferry from Stranrar to Larne and then home.
Ferry costs are roughly €1000 and about €350 for petrol.

And don't forget the AA!

The AA Five Star Cover works out at €299 for up to 45 days, but you have to add a premium of €63 for all cars over 8 years old.
Woddy has mentioned that the Carol Nash Insurance Policy I have includes a European Breakdown Assistance cover, but I don't know if this is as extexcive as the AA one so I will be looking into that

Don't forget IMOC members get a 20% discount on Stena fares and 10% off their special rates.
FYI: The photos in the Gallery under "OLD IMOC Photos" show some IMOC camping areas at previous IMMs.
Terwold, Holland, Dave Sweetman & Friend - Terwold
IMOC Minis - Terwold x2, IMOC Table at Party (Hagan)
IMOC Minis - Hagan, Overview of IMM Hagan
6 very young (single)members and a guest in Monte Carlow after Hagan.
Phoenix Park x2, Terwold
So prepare for camping in the rain, mud and sunshine.
I think the above were Hagan , but it might have been Offenburg....., trying to remember those lost days.

Got mixed up between Monte Carlo and the Mourne to Carlow run being organised by the South Down MOC.

Do we get that 20% discount anytime or just for this trip and how do you claim it while doing the booking?

by BlackSe7en
20% anytime. There is a code to give over the phone ,but I don't kinow it offhand. Someone will have to go through the old magazines to find it.
BY the way, Flying Finn , don't forget to bring the Samilakki back with you.

If it is very nesseserry, you can stay until Monday Morning, BUT everyone and everything Has to be out of the area at 10:00 Monday morning !!!
That is why we have written Sunday, to be sure of that, but it is posible, we just don´t want to go around and wake up people and clean up after them, when we do not have the time for it..
Hope you understand
Kind regards

Unlike a one-day show where everyone packs up and heads for home afterwards, an IMM usually starts on a Friday night and ends up Sunday.

Just like NIMW :D

Ally,
That's a shameless plug if ever I saw one. Mind you, I was guilty of the same carry-on in the turn-up to MTM.
Hope it goes well.

Billy yhou need to go to more IMMs. IMMs start on Friday morning and finish Monday morning, or Thursday to Tuesday if thet are really good.
Soren, the IMM Program page doesn't seem to be working. Will there be any entertainment on Sunday night at the IMM site or should we plan to visit the Absoulte Ice bar in Copenhagen?

Black7,
What Mini are you bringing to the IMM this year? You must find it annoying to see those IMM-lite lads who just fly in for the weekend! Shur if we all did that, there'd be no Minis at all, at all.
Billy (who has always brought a Mini to any IMM he's been at)
