Keith, I went for the rolling 30 year exemption

I can't see the RSA rowing back from the 1980 cutoff if safety is the main priority, which I've no doubt it is. Hence a rolling 30 is potentially allowing more cars on the road untested. Just talking to someone earlier and he suggested a 35 year rolling but as that's not one of the 4 options the RSA have proposed, it's unlikely to be implemented. I'd say it will either stay at 1980 or rolling 40 years.

"5th DEC 2014 - VINTAGE VEHICLE CONSULTATION UPDATE

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) has received almost 2,000 submissions to its public consultation on Vintage Vehicle Roadworthiness Testing; the majority of which came from individual enthusiasts and clubs.

Due to the volume of responses, the RSA is unable to acknowledge receipt of each individually but wishes to thank everyone who provided feedback. All the feedback is currently being analysed and will be reflected in the Authority’s report and recommendations to the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport."

Noticed this today, I reckon 2000 submissions was a good response and the IVVCC and the other Clubs' Committee members that put the hard work into travelling around the country to meetings , will be happy with this number.
