Early last year I realised that I needed to sort Benny out if he was to be ready for the IMM. He's a 40+ year old car (well most of him anyway

) so he was a little worse for wear underneath so i wanted to sort that out. While I was getting him stripped back I decided that there was a lot of stuff I never really liked from the start, mostly a lot of 90's rover interior bits so I looked into sorting those out too. He's an original GT but so many bits have been changed over the years and now that he's sporting a 16v BMW bike head I wasnt gonna be too upset about trying to keep him original, its far too late for that. Instead I decided to try and bring him back to look kinda like a modded 70's clubby. I did a good bit of research, especially over on Ausmini.com and got some great ideas.
So since the last bunch of pics, he's had;
A full body resto, with multiple panels replaced, new floors boot, doors reskinned... the bleedin works!
He's been fully sealed, resprayed in OEW but I decided to get rid of the black roof, change the arches and whip off the stripes. Ive still a few bits to do, and he's got to go back for a remap and a fettle once the paint has dried but I'm absolutely delighted with how he's turned out. Props to Paul Hickey in HRE for doing all of the work. Im gonna try get some better pics over the next week or two, if it snows BONUS!!!

Absolutely class, I saw Benny when I was over in Paul's before a Christmas a few times, and saw him at different stages, huge amount of work and looks fantastic, love it Maxi

Outside the job earlier.
Discovered one of the downsides of the BMW bike head conversion is the bike plugs get fouled really badly if Im just using the car for short runs (which i am) so he needs a good trashing once a week to keep everything running ok (he's like an absolute bastard when the plugs have crud on them) So I took him for a proper blat down to NAAS and back earlier and he was back to full health by the time we rolled back onto James Street. Had a great little friendly dice with a newer mini on the quays too, he got a bit of a shock
