Re: MTM2009 - OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Serious hard luck Pat.
Rang home today and another 5 entries arrived this morning. I don't have all the names but once myself and Neil arrive back in north Cork tomorrow, I'll post up a full list of names and send out accommodation lists to all of them.
The great news is that we have now definitely got 53 Minis taking part in MTM2009, the same number as back in 1999, the very first MTM.
More detailed info tomorrow,
Billy

Re: MTM2009 - OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Everyone above who supplied an e-mail address on their MTM entry form has now been e-mailed a receipt and a list of accommodation at both ends. Those with e-mail will have the same posted out but as there is no post today or Monday, it will be midweek before they receive it.

Re: MTM2009 - OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Great result for the 10 year anniversary getting over 50 minis together well done.
Quick question, do you have to have two people in the mini on the run? will there be map reading etc?
Only reason I ask is because my better half is not now coming as she has realised the mileage involved and as she suffers from a bad back we have decided she should stay at home.
I will therefore be travelling on my own hence the question.

Re: MTM2009 - OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
No need for two,the event is designed so that the minis will always be in a convoy so all you have to do is follow the cars in front. The two route book system works a treat as there is no point in tearing off like a maniac because everyone must arrive at the halfway point before the next book is given.
Real Clubmans have a square nose.Seriously.

Re: MTM2009 - OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Cheers for the reply
Thats great I can make it on my own in that case.
I was all ready with the car prepped and I have just noticed the steering rack has developed a tightness and some play so new rack on order so that will be a pain to fit.
Oh well all the joys of mini ownership eh!!

Re: MTM2009 - OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
While KMG is right in that it's possible to do MTM on your own, the last time I did on my own was in the Hornet 2 years ago and I'd be slow to do it again. The craic was much better last year when I had a co-pilot. My co-driver again this year is Jim Marlow from the US who is flying in especially for MTM. Jim is a BINI driver but we don't hold that against the man (Howdy Jim).
Dermot, perhaps a wanted ad for a co-driver/navigator would be worthwhile and would also keep the costs down.

To be honest I dont mind driving on my own and as my GT is set up rather stiff im sure the co-driver would soon tire of the ride quality.
Still im out to enjoy myself and have a laugh along the way.

Re: MTM2009 - OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
YOu might want to soften up the suspension a bit. Neil and I did the recce last week in a lovely comfy Citroen and we still felt the odd bump in spots.

Just back from a very long day doing a final recce of the southern part of MTM2009. Hydrolastic will definitely be your only man. I've sorted a very entertaining brekkie stop and the owner was delighted that we will be stopping there.
Sleep calls.

I have the suspension wound right up looking more like a 4x4 than a mini at the moment.
Im intrigued about the brekkie stop.

Looks like I,m in for a Bumpy ride so.
My mini is setup like a gocart.
I think there is a suspension on it, But one thing is for sure it aint working.
Any one selling cushions.

Eamonn,
We called MTM2007 "The Numb Bum Run".
Expect something similar this year, particularly in the southern end up to the lunch stop.
