hey guys i fitted stage 1 kit a while back but got a hif 38 with it, my car is doing strange things the last few days..
eg
when driving up a slight hill ( that makes engine work harder to maintain same speed) with 2 passengers at a speed of around 80-90 km/h and accelerating to get to 100 km/h the engine starts make a weird noise and even at full throttle the engine looses its power and starts slowing down (as if there is an overload of petrol going in or something)......
strangely enough when i get up the hill the car has no problem responding to acceleration.... this only seems to appear when their are passengers in the car, and also when im doing short roadtrips (30 mins-2 hours)
i did the gaps and timing etc a while back and made sure they were spot on, i am going to check these again.. other than that i am clueless as to what is wrong??
are their any mechanics around cavan area that you can recommmed to set up carburettors properly???

I make that 41 mpg which is good if your trying to save money or bad if your trying to drive hard.
When you remove the piston the needle is secured by a single screw which when you remove it be carefull theres a small spring behind it, also cheak that the needle isn't bent. At the top of the needle there will be a 2 or 3 digit code.Tell us what it is, could be anything as these carbs where fitted on everything from a mini to a sherpa van.
