Eastern Monthly Meeting Proposed Change
As you may know the monthly meeting has been very poor over the last few months. It maybe a good idea to change it to the last Sunday or Saturday of the month instead because I think it is getting harder to make the evening meetings for all the usual reasons. If we have the meeting 12:00 on a last Sundays for example we could have a meeting, go for a run, show and shine what ever we think on the day. The minis are spending too much time under covers, it time to take them out for a blast more often.

Milton,
I definitely think there is merit in your idea. Yonks back there were a few of us living near Carrigaline who all had old cars. Over the winter when there wouldn't be any organised events on, we used meet in a local carpark at midday on the 1st Sunday of the month, decide a route there and then, and off we'd go. We'd always end up at the Ramble Inn pub on the way out to Bandon where the owner would lay on soup and sambos. This would be followed by a major sing-song and session as we were usually joined by the Honda Goldwing lads. Note all of this was before random breath-testing etc!!!!! Happy days.
Go for it,
Billy

I agree that a change might bring out the numbers again, but what about varying the meeting point to a different county each month, which would result in LAME, MICK and some others having to organise different runs around the various counties.
P.S. I alway knew Billy's "singing" lead to the introduction of Random Breath Testing.

Milton,I would agree with your idea as I live an hour from the meetings and this in inself a mini event for me to attend the meetings. As regards LAME and MICK,let us not forget the smaller groups i.e.LIMBO(longford imaginary mini buffs organisation)a small but dedicated group of mini owners whose cars spend more time off the the road that on it.
Sounds to me that having a meeting in the corner of a huge pub is not the best way for newbies to find other members, especially if there's only 3 other members there anyway.
I second this, went along to a meeting there earlier this year and when I walked in (apart from not knowing anyone) I didn't even recognize anyone from the jumble sale earlier that month so I just left. :( :( :(

Lets stop the faffing about on this issue.Miltons idea to change the meeting to a Sunday morning and then off for a run or an event is an excellent one and everybody seems to be in favour of it and anyone who is not in favour of it is seems to be staying stum. And it would be a great way for newbies to get involved so as Jean Luc Pickard said"make it so number one".Lets face it there is more than one or two tumble weeds blowing across the eastern region lately, the mini,s are out there so lets start using them.
