Mid engined VW 20V Turbo Mini
I have a 1980 Mini and was always wanting a Mini with a rwd setup. So here it goes. Take a Mini with a bit of work required and Frankenstein it into a VW Golf GTi powered 1.8 20v Turbo Rwd.
Rust Repairs:
Make up a cage to hold the engine, suspension and strengthen the car, and then cut the boot floor and most of the rear out.
Fit the engine and make mounts for it and the suspension.
Hope everyone approves.

Looks great, nice fabrication skills!
Are you going for a sleeper look?
How many hours are you into the project?

Fantastic project. You obviously didn't wake up one morning and decide to take up such a serious challenge. Have you done other mod builds like this before?

Re: Mid engined VW 20V Turbo Mini
Was looking something a bit different from a Z-car build, still would love to own one though. Had the Mini shell for a few years and the Golf popped up at the right money so the decision was made.
I also own and have built a 1990 Bedford Rascal with a Suzuki TLr 1000cc V-Twin engine fitted, its a hoot to drive and is really loud so doesn't get used as much as it should. The Mini should be faily quiet, well I hope.
