CV Joint seating washer

Post by charcosull »

Hi All.
Would anybody know the dimensions of the seating washer to torque up the cv joint/front wheel bearing (tool21 on minispares).

Or even better, does anybody have one that they could lend me for a day?

Thanks
Ciaran

There is a drawing & description in your Haynes Manual in the chapter on 'Driveshafts'. It is cut from 1/4in. - 6.5mm sheet steel or a washer with a Diameter of 50mm & a centre hole of 25mm. Don't use anything thinner as you will not be able to pull the CV joint tight. Eamonn.

Eamonn you absolute gentleman. I moved house and couldnt find the Haynes manual anywwhere. Probably still at the bottom of a box.
I was able to get a very very similar sized washer in Tripart in galway this morning. Thanks again. Should be back on the road in the morning.
