Re: Vtec Clubman Help
There isnt much other the
engine
gearbox
loom and ecu
drive shafts
alternator bracket(included with subframe)
Clutch master cylinder
fuel pump
Air filter of some sort
after that as far as i remember everything els is personal taste
like wheels brakes ect
to actually fit everything is a fairly easy job and if you have everything there its basicaly a bolt together job first time round it took a little longer that we wanted but second time (full rebuild on another shell it took a few evenings

Re: Vtec Clubman Help
Thanks that's most positive stuff I've heard so far.. I know there is work but it's barely shell rebuild so was thinking only work to install VTEC should be subframe loom dash and front set up brakes shocks steering etc.. but all that is included in Watson's kit.. what kit did you use.?armo wrote:There isnt much other the

Re: Vtec Clubman Help
Thanks yes spoke to guy in relation to problems having with top speed.. Would appear that Allegro super had a 3.94 final drive.. It feels flat out at 60.. 75 is top whack it zips right up there but then nothing.. I putva GPS on it private road and it's 82 mph. Screaming.. My old 998cc could go faster.. So I'm thinking of a 3.21 final drive out of a metro turbo as that's about the power it's making 90 or 100 guesstimate bhp.. Based on work done to engine.. Unless anyone has any better recommendations for a better final drive.. I want good acceleration and hoping for 120 mph but settle for the 115 lol.. I'm using 12 inch wheels on itmacker wrote:Just as an aside to the whole gearing thing with minis, I have a straight cut 4 speed box on my own mini (1380 stage 5ish) which I changed the final drive to a 3.1, that coupled with the 1.1 straight cuts means I can move a lot faster than standard minis, but in doing so I have lost some of the lower speed acceleration that you would get with a 3.44 F/D, running on 10' wheels.
a standard mini set up iirc is geared to somewhere around 96mph top end, my own will hit my rev limiter at 115mph (on a rolling road of course)
you don't really need a 5 speed

Re: Vtec Clubman Help
Yes did them alright good tools.. though if would suggest I'm at 5500 rpm at 82 mph.. i would have thought I'd easily do 6000 on this engine or a wee bit more.. but perhaps the box is just stopping me.. revving pretty high anyway... Think the mind is made up to go for the 3.21 drive as it was good enough for the turbos
