Restorers/BodyShops in Limerick area - Bodywork?
Hi,
Just got a 1998 Racing Green Cooper and have been stripping it myself - exterior brightwork, lights, bumper and most of the interior etc removed now so I can see exactly what's needed. I'm happy with mechanicals and general stuff, but can't do the bodywork - does anyone know of good garages in the Limerick area or surroundings that are good? I know of Lyons garages in Milltown Malbay and Michael there was very helpful on phone - but now that the car is mostly apart on the inside, I'm hoping to postpone a full restoration until a later date and see how I can get by otherwise to enjoy the car a little and maybe restore over the winter.
Sills have a couple of holes - and floorpan is warped from jacking up - A panels have rust at bottom a little more rust under headlights. There is rust around windscreen - but I haven't the dash out yet to see the possible extent of that! (yikes!)
Anyway - any helpful hints greatly appreciated - looking forward to getting the poor mini back to former glory...

Hi Shane and welcome to the forum.
Michael Lyons has a very good reputation and has turned out some fine Minis.
Some years ago, I used Martin Murray in Croom. Be prepared for an unmerciful fright when you finish stripping. Click on the link below for the project file on my old '98 Cooper. It may frighten you.

Hope it helps,
Billy

Hi Shane and welcome to the forum, I sorted out your photo for you, dropbox isn't the easiest for photo sharing on this forum, but if you want to use it you can, you need to right click the image you want to post and copy it's actual web address and then post it using the IMG tags in the body of your post.
Best of luck with the restoration.
TMG.

Well, I’m close. Half an hour from Limerick. Could lend a hand. That’s of course, if standard of my work is good enough for you. Can be seen here: http://www.irishminis.ie/forum/viewtopi ... =6&t=10774
