I have had my MPI since new in 1998 and the first thing I had to replace was the Rover backbox, it rusted within 2 years, so I suggest not replacing it with another Rover one. All the UK mini shops stock aftet market replacements. If you have time, I suggest you go around and listen to sound of different MPIs and ask the owner the make.
I preference is the PlayMini one, it has a bit of a growl, but no hassle with NCTs or neighbours.
