1991 Mini Cooper 'John Cooper S conversion'

Post by hughesmarkie »

Hi all

Last week I stumbled across a little 91 mini Cooper.
After a quick inspection cash was handed over and I took her home. She has been sitting gathering dust in a garage for the last 2 years so she does needs a little tlc but nothing to major thankfully.
It wasn't till I got her home and flicked through the folder packed with receipts and invoices (even the original spare key & service booklets), I found out what I bought.

All certs, plaque paperwork and receipts are there for the John Cooper S package.
So it appears to be an early Rsp Cooper S?

Does anyone have any info on these ?
Plan is to clean her up, NCT her and probably sell her on.

I will get some more info and photos up soon

Thanks
Darren

Yeah I did a bit of reading the Rsp would have factory sunroof.
I'm still pleased she's got the S conversion, from what I've read they seem to be sought after in the UK.

All RSP's VIN number started with BAD and had factory sunroofs among other standard equipment. All you need to know about RSP's can be found here http://www.rsp-cooper-register.co.uk/About_the_RSP.htm Your Mini looks to be a mainstream Cooper which was introduced after the RSP launch and before the SPi came on stream.Still nice to have one with an S pack.
Real Clubmans have a square nose.Seriously.
