Hi folks
My spi has just failed nct on emissions, badly.
Its not running smooth regards revs and the sparks plugs are black.
All air hoses and joints are in good nick.
Any ideas what I can do myself...
It flew through last time and it's hardly driven.
Any ideas appreciated

Re: Spi failed on emissions
Have you pluged it into a diagnostic reader? Really is the quickest and cheepest way to rule out a lot of things, other than that your just guessing and spending money on parts that may not need replacing.

Re: Spi failed on emissions
I had similar trouble w/mine. Does she cut out @ low revs/ idle? Mine was the vacuum pipes. Id say the best thing to do is drop onver to Minifix & let the lads run a diagnostic on her to find out for sure

Re: Spi failed on emissions
Had it in with minifix earlier.
Nothing coming up on diagnostics!
Air hoses and such are fine.
Have to solve the running rich problem first looking at the catalytic converter.
Also, when pressing and holding the accelerator pedal the revs will stay constant.
But when reving from the car from the engine bay linkage the revs fluctuate like mad,
back firing. Don't know why this is happening!
I'm at a loss!!!

Re: Spi failed on emissions
the catalytic converter isn't going to fix the black plugs.. it only cleans up the emissions a little.

but i'd nearly bet its a vacuum pipe issue.

Signature still awaiting top-coat and lacquer....
