Re: 1968 ELF MK3
Today we started to put the car back together. It left the paint shop and went to MiniFix to get the subframes back in. We ran the brake lines, fuel lines and got the subframes put back in. It turned out to be alot of fiddling and swearing but got them in eventually. Huge thanks to Paul and James for everything. So photos

Re: 1968 ELF MK3
Right some more progress.
everything is going well with the Elf hopefully will be finished soon. This week all the brake lines have been ran. This includes master cylinders etc... the engine is in and everything is bled.
Dad has also finished the dash it has been lacquered and is ready to go back in
The rad is in, with full wiring loom, wiper motor and other bits and bobs
Also have pedal box, switches, bottom dash rail in with steering column
Hopefully to have more done soon next job is glass and headlining so off to the trimmers

Re: 1968 ELF MK3
So as I said the car went to the trimmers last week to get the headlining in and the dash rail covering in. We have also left the seats and door cards with the trimmer so should have them back soon. We bit the bullet and said we would go full leather. We chose a grayish/bluish colour whick compliments the paint and carpet colour. Can't wait to have it all finished so photos

Re: 1968 ELF MK3
So rest of photos as photobucket is working again. Boot lid is on and now is running thanks to replacement of fuel pump old one was leaking all around the seal.
I ordered blank door cards for it off Newton, they arrived today and are going up to my trimmer tomorrow to be wrapped in the same leather as the seats. He is working away at them as I speak. He came down with the rear seat yesterday and popped it in looks so nice. So photos

Re: 1968 ELF MK3
Thanks Dave C yeah puts the others to shame now ha
Got few more bits done today weather was good aswell so that helped. Started by giving it a quick clean up, then went onto doing a few bits on the dash, and started putting in the carpets, seat brackets and seatbelts should be finished soon enough.
forgot to paint these aswell so had to do them today.

Re: 1968 ELF MK3
Got the rest of the carpets in look really well
decided to play it safe and get black mats to protect the blue can pop them out at shows etc...
got the front seats in
popped the hubcaps on really looks like an elf now
put back in the Riley steering wheel instead f the old clubbie one I had
cut a freesh boot board as the old one had cracked and warped have matching carpets to match the rest of the car for it but needs alteration to fit so off to the trimmers for the last few bits fitted
took it out for its first real spin since october popped down to get some fresh petrol with one of its buddys'
is 90% there at this stage looking forward to being completely finished

Re: 1968 ELF MK3
So its finally finished will get a few snaps of the full dash as well when it goes back in.
Got the chrome strip fitted to go down the side as well as the remaining elf pieces. Dad is absolutely delighted with it big thanks to Paul and James at Minifix for all the hard work and help.
Got the door bins sprayed to match the leather popped down to my uncle in Vinny Byrnes in Ballyfermot to get the paint mixed even let me use the spray booth to paint them was great stuff was dried in no time. If you ever need anything pop in and ask for Ken can mix anything you.
and the car with its chrome
will pop up the a few interior shots soon.

Re: 1968 ELF MK3
Hi Sorry I have been meaning to put up these last few pics for a while now, have been busy with other projects. So it is finished and has been to its first show. The dash is back in and we have made little glove box liners and painted them body colour. And put the remaining little finishing touches on.
At the Mosney Show
Nice leather interior
the boot
Boot badges on ( Found a boot badge and is like new delighted
Glove box
The finished dash
Lighter colour goes well with the blue I think

Car looks excellent, real credit to you.
In the interest of originality should the switch panel be gray instead of black?
