Hi my name is Cian I'm 15 years old From South Dublin,Im a huge Classic Motorcycle fan of racing and mechanical side but my other side is minis, ever since i saw Mr.Bean when i was 4 or 5 years old i knew i had the bug, I loved minis and always wanted to own one and would read up on them buy books and pictures of them. And this week has been amazing, after about 5 years of asking my dad to buy one i acctually got enough money and room to buy one for myself and get my dad to drive it on Mini runs and join the club until i get driving.with the help of my dad I purchases a 1986 Austin Mini 1000cc. It's matt black in colour and was 90 percent restored I'm safe to say that this car has no rust what so ever it spent the last 6 years in a garage as a fixer upper for a young apprentice mechanic,The whole underneath of the car was cut out and welded in new sills,floor pans,subframes,and pillar frames.it was then treated with rust prevention and then sprayed matte black.It also has a Stage 1 kit in the engine, k&n airfilter, with it rebuilt also a fully straight through pipe from top to bottom on it,Very loud.it had other things such as New suspension arms,shocks,bushes,Ball joints,Camber,Lowered Springs,new 12inch Minilites Wheels painted in black and original wooden dash and striped seats in it already and nothing changed inside since 1986.All i need to do is get it NCT'd and taxed which is my next goal,like some little tweaks on electrics and headlights and stuff and then my dad will hopefully insure this car on classic insurance and fingers-crossed join the Irish Mini Owners Club and head out on as many classic-runs.Hopefully my dream will come true in the future to go on runs and then get my self insured on this when the times right. Put on some new parts this weekend such as chrome bits and bobs,New Bonnet rod hook,new arial,Bit of work on electrics.A good clean On the outside,needs loads more work need to crack on!

NCT are getting stricter on loud exhausts and may refuse to do emmission test if its too loud.

today fitted the mini with an ariel and fixed up a couple of the electrics like lights,indicators,and hazards,on her way now,all i need is a few more electrics and a look over and a set of chrome wheel arches and she will on the road.it will be the first time ever this car has been drivin on irish roads as only registered and never used

Yes that's the man no having a bit of a tax book problem ATM yes still have the stage 1 kit have a few changes engine is all done up have new interior in it,new wheels,new tyres,little bits of trim here and there and mostly done besides a bit of tunning,
