Seven go down to the Sea - Limerick Run 29th April

Post by Billy »

....well, seven Minis anyway.

We had a nice turnout for the first IMOC run organised out of Limerick.

Kevin Ring called for me shortly after 10 and we met up with FlyingFinn in Kildorrery for the journey to Limerick. We met in the South Court Hotel from 11.20 and hit the road just after midday. Tom O'Sullivan had the local knowledge and our first stop was for brunch in the Adare Heritage Centre.

We had 2 new members and their Minis with us, FlyingFinn and Edward Healy from Blarney.

After that we headed via Ardagh, Athea, and Listowel until we stopped at Ballybunion. Fresh air on the beach followed by ice cream cones. Hard to believe it's still April.

From Ballybunion we made our way to Foynes and the Flying Boat Museum. I'd been there a few times before but they have recently added a full scale mock-up of a Yankee Clipper flying boat. Fascinating stuff.

As regards the next event for the Southern Region crew, all will be keeping the heads down getting ready for the MTM in a few weeks time.

Need to brush up on my Enid Blyton Neil.

The yellow Mini is owned by Edward Healy and his son David. They bought the Mini in Dublin so perhaps it's Elaine's old car.
