Hi Lads,
Finally getting around to fixing up my 96 spi Cooper.
I've bought a Custom Console and trying to remove my existing walnut dash with some difficulty, I have the two bolts removed from either end and as far as I know theres just one more bolt behind the radio that I need to remove, this is where I'm stuck. Theres quite a large silver bolt right behind the radio housing but finding it very difficult to remove it, is this even the bolt I need to remove to release the dash? Any help/advice much appreciate as it's doing my nut in (no pun intended!)
p.s. I tried searching for this with no real joy so apologies if it's been answered a million times before.
Cheers Lads!

Re: Problems removing walnut dash
When I was taking out my dash from my 96 Cooper there where two bolts either side that were accessed from either footwell, so from under the bottom dash rail. I did have to take my radio out and undo a bolt in the centre just behind radio housing. I also took the shroud off from around the ignition on steering column it made it easier to pull the dash out with the extra clearance. (Only 2 screws) I removed to two air vent either side aswell. The outer ring screws off and they will just pull out. The dash was held on to the top dash rail with like mini plastic steps only way to describe it, but you could get a flat head screwdriver to push them down to allow the dash to come free.
Hope that helps

Stuart.

Cheers Lads..
Stuart,
I think I just need to take the bolt off behind the radio but it's very awkward to get to so I'm not sure how I'll tackle this, I'll give it another go tomorrow and see. Stress
Cheers,
Declan
