I had been speaking to Brendan from RTE security on and off for the last few weeks, he was asking around to see who owned it. Then he rang me last Thursday to say he had found the owner - a young woman from the HR department. I thanked him with a bottle of Jameson!
She told me she has spent a lot of money on the mini to get it through it's last NCT... and she wasn't kidding. She has receipts totaling over €2000 in the last 2 years. 4 New tyres, reconditioned carb, fuel filter and regulator, temp sensor, map sensor, ball joints, rear wheel cylinders, CV boot and gaiter, not to mention the modified centre exit. The list goes on.
I think when the exhaust downpipe failed, it was the straw that broke the camels back and that's how it ended up lying opposite fair city for 6 months. It's unfortunate for her, because the exhaust fix was very simple. What's concerning me now is the lack of power, so please people feel free to share your thoughts!
Also on further inspection of the damage to the rear, it's a bit worse than I initially thought. Will need to be pulled out and re-aligned
Any suggestions on the best way to do this.... minimal intervention preferred!!
Thanks
View of the dent, must have been a bollard
you can see the crease in the bodywork. This has knocked the boot lid out of line
