Put the kettle on...

Post by Pete @ Brooklands »

Good evening,

Had a great day at RIAC Classic Car Show in the RDS where I met Shay and Darren on the stand, which might I add, looked great.

As a quick introduction, my name is Pete Moreland-Moore and I work for Brooklands Motor Group just outside Belfast.

Our fleet includes

'59 Austin Seven, this is still on riveted steel wheels, foam filled sills and everything is as per original aside from a few bits that seem to have been painted in the 60's or 70's.

'66 Cooper 'S' Works Replica - built to be as close a recreation of the cars of the time. Although a little quicker with a 1480, good strong box and LSD to help when we have her out on an event.

'67 Cooper - affectionately known as Penelope, the wee car is almost perfect and as per factory despite extensive restoration.

I will try and get photos of all three.

Most of you will have heard of us or dealt with myself or Lyn, so at this point I would like to say we are extending our Mini stock in accordance with what our customers request. The majority of stock is British Motor Heritage panel work and of course anything that can be used across the a-series engines. So if you have any requests, special orders, or simply want a price, by all means feel free to PM me instead of clogging up the forum.

We would also like to offer a discount to all forum users of 5% purely for quoting IMOC when phoning.

Certainly, door is always open, kettle is almost never off the boil ;)

We have been stocking Heritage panels for 6 or 7 years now, but we have been Heritage approved since 1988 if i remember correctly.

The 'S' was liberated for my wedding in September. My wife was delivered to the ceremony in the Mini whilst I drove my Best Man's midget.

Ah, my profuse apologies, I will go and edit the first post now.

Yeah, primary business over the last 28 years has been MG's, but there is/was a severe lack of Mini specialists and we found many people coming to us as requesting parts. As such our stocks have built up over the years. We're still very much paddling in this pond as it would seem the majority of Mini products are shiney, expensive bolt on goodies which we have always shied away from in the past for MG's but I am hoping you guys could assist us in bringing in the stock that people actually want.

As I mentioned at the show, all panels, consumables and servicing parts are in stock and ready for shipping. Generally anything up to 30kg gets shipped for £11 (E12.65) but smaller stuff will come down in jiffy bags through the normal postal system.

I'm sure anyone who has dealt with us before will know we are definitely enthusiasts first and business second, we actually want to help where possible and both Lyn and myself work to all hours and ends of the night to make sure we remain competitive and of course up to speed on what parts are moving in what direction.

I myself, seem to spend a considerable amount of time hiding in the garage from the wife with the grinder in hand.

Evening Maverick, we are based in Dunmurry. BT17 9AB, just down the side of the Police Station. There is a map available on our website http://www.brooklandsmg.co.uk

We have 3600 sq ft, we don't tend to let people dander around but you're welcome to come see the range of stock and have a coffee
