Re: 93 sprite :P
Very true but you leaving it white instead of black wouldn't make much of difference to the look. That's all I'm saying

Nice mini mate, what is the colour code may i ask? I think just a normal long number plate would look best and save you getting any hassle.

Re: 93 sprite :P
Very sad update comming
Worse weekend iv had yet. Had the car up on stands all week and had both wheels off checking balljoints and put both wheels back on and left the car in the air. Friday came and i Torqued up driver side but wheel but totally forgot that i even had the passenger wheel off. Put the car down and drove of out the drive way. Half a mile up the road heard a knocking and decided to turn around as i remembered the wheel was only hand tight. Pulled over and got out the wheel braise and it couldn't fit into the alloy to tighten the nut so i ha no choice but to drive back. Drove back and 4 metres from the shed door the wheel fell off ill let the photos do the talking :
On saturday i inspected the bearings and balljoints all was ok so i took it for a drive and amazingly the tracking wasn't out so i rendered it drive-able.
So later that night i hit off for the galway cruise (why i was planning for friday night) arilved in loughrea and went onto the motorway on the way to galway in a crowd of about 50-60 cars. Had a big gap infront of me and picked up speed and passed out about 10-11 cars. And just as we car to slow down for the roundabout bang!! Rear ended. The car that was originally behind me had smashed into the car originally infront of me and destroyed his car. I was the last person in the line to get hit so i just had rear damage. The one man that caused it all got away so cant claim from insurance. And the pictures.
All i have to say is that god i was showing off and passed out all them people because if i didnt the mini would be destroyed and maybe even me and erin too.
Will do the re-mtm run and the mtm in it the way it is (its perfectly drivable) and send it to simon the do the body work.
Any ideas would that dent pull out or will it be a new/second hand boot lid

Bad luck man but it could be worse!.... You could try hammering the boot lid out the way as a temperary fix but don't know if you could get it all with the supports on the inside of the boot lid... For the price you'd pay for a second hand boot lid it wouldn't really be worth or time repairing that one
Getting old is a must but growing up is optional!

Re: 93 sprite :P
Your better 2 leave it alone don’t go pushing or hammering at it if your getting Simon to do it. it will only leave it harder for him as it will stretch the mettle as long as water isn’t getting in that’s the main thing but the boot lid will fix

Re: 93 sprite :P
Dont plan on doing anything myself
Ill only end up messing it up. Ill stick to mechanics and leave body to simon. I know its cheaper do it yourself but i just dont have the nack to bodywork

Re: 93 sprite :P
Joey, you're entitled to claim off the insurance of the actual car that collided with you, not the one at the back of the pile up.
Ultimately, and ideally, each car is supposed to keep enough distance from the one in front to prevent such rear end incidents and therefore the car directly behind you is liable for the damage caused to your car.
While it wasn't a nice experience, thankfully you and Erin weren't hurt.
Humans are much more difficult to repair than machines!
